Default Skill Points

Hello everyone I have completed the game with three characters and have used the skill points each time around to unlock certain skills in an effort to gradually get them all. This painful process seems as though it could have be avoided. I ask then how is it that you get skill points. Do you have a spot where you can rack up 20k experience really quickly and if so what build do you use.

  • Do all the quests for skills if you can. Don't buy skills that you could quest for instead.
  • Do the missions. You get one skill point for each one.
  • Go to the Underworld and kill stuff. This is the grindiest answer, but many people have professed it's the best. I haven't tried it much, so that's just heresay.

Solo high experience monsters with scrolls of insight. The bosses in perdition rock give 400 xp a kill normally. With a slayer's insight it would be boosted to about 1000xp for that one kill.

Think more about net experience gain over time, and less about sparse experience chunks every hours.

My warrior character is currently sitting at Thunderhead, I think I've bought maybe 3 skills with her. She currently has 40+ skillpoints (not at home, can't remember exact number) simply from doing quests, etc.

here's a worksheet that i found in the tools forum and slightly modified. it will list what skills you can earn from quests and which are only buyable from trainers. hope this helps.

Considering the UW/FoW quests give 5000-10000 exp, and the monsters are a high level, clearing one of them, or clearing just some of them will net you at least a few skill points.

If I really want XP, I go to the FoW. Just 2 quests there and you get your skill point already.

No. Scrolls are only for XP received from combat. And I just want to point out that having to grind for XP is just like grinding for levels, except you get 1 measly skill instead of an all-around power increase. Give or take a few, I've grinded for every skill for all 6 classes (I have about 15 left to do). So about 100+ levels of grinding, half of them before the 20k cap patch. About 75 of those skill suck and will never be used :P

UW is barely a grind, you get skill points faster doing UW then at any other point in the game. You'll get all the skill points you could ever need from there, though the drops are really terrible, unless you really care about 15k armor.
